Seems Tito enjoys to see how many views he gets to his posts, and especially the responses he gets from his tirades.

Everybody band together and stop the nonsense. No more replies to his posts. No more views. Just move on. It's simple enough. I'll do my part, let's see the views dwindle away. If someone replies to Tito, we start a new thread to gently remind that person to not feed the trolls. Let's do this with the same enthusiasm as the posters who ask "how do I download shows?"

Otherwise, this place goes to hell.

Who's with me? Show of hands!

I have to admit, I might have confused things by saying "aye" earlier...I agree that flame wars are inefficient and maybe even inappropriate, and folks should just avoid those sorts of things, but I have no problems with "hijacks" (ie, Ashes, below) and responding to those...sorry if this is in violation of team unity...

GoP probably has it best in his post above.

Amen. That's what I've been trying to do anyway (not that I can't understand succumbing to the temptation to jump into the fray).

I'm with you. 1/2 his views are from the 50 or 60 screen names he has anyway. he views them himself to pump up the numbers.
then he replies or edits to jump back up to the top.

The big problem is honest people come by for there first post's and we don't know if they are for real or you know who.Such a shame.

Agreed. This bickering is getting tiresome and it's going nowhere. They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

I'm with you on ignoring Tito's postings.
This forum is far from perfect and I think it's normal for people to disagree on things.
But being told your opinion of shows and what you like to listen to is crap because Tito doesn't agree with it has gotten very old very quick.

I would like to go one step further. In remembering the giving spirit of the Dead and why we are all here. I would like to send someone a GD book. I have Phil's book and Jerry's book. I will happily send one to someone to read. The only catch is you have to promise to send it to another kind person when you are done reading it.
Peace.

Thanks again. I'm only about 60-70 pages in, but I'm really impressed by Phil's (ghost?)writing and the influences/meetings/hybridization/fermentation of the early years are very illuminating. Very cool stuff.

That's a pretty sweet idea man. Trade books instead of shows... or how bout books FOR shows?

I'm actually (believe it or not) very well known among my friends for returning books, DVDs, and CDs (I can't vouch for lighters and pens). I'd be happy to read either and/or both and mail the same along.

BD,
if that is the case I'd love to send you something. Always enjoy your posts even if you are a "dukey"
Not sure how to get your e mail but if you can figure out a way I'd love to discuss.

I've been bad. Broke the rule. Replied to others within the thread.

I can do it. Er, meaning, NOT do it.

Best idea I've heard all week. My hand's in the air.

Not unlike SDH, I fell prey to the spineless cretin's shit-stirring my damned self. The punchline to that, though, was when I told my wife, "Oh, I let myself get 9 or 10 different kinds of pissed off at some asshole who read what I'd posted and said to me, 'I guess the old lady wasn't puttin' out this weekend, huh?', and I told him, 'Say what you want about me, but leave my family out of it!'" and my wife says to me, "But honey, I did put out this weekend." He who laughs last, right?

And speaking of laughing, wineland's picture of Sam Jackson in the APOLOGIES thread got me cracking up again just thinking about it---and just then I open up the Internet Tough Guy pictures in THIS thread. Damn near soiled myself, man!

I agree, Scrim. I have no expertise in this area, just the benefit of experience and I think the thing is we have to realise that he is in a great deal of emotional and psychological pain and each of his posts is a cry for help distorted 180 degrees by the pain. In such a case there is nothing you can do to help this person until he admits to himself that he has a problem. Reason, pity, retaliation won't make any difference. All you can do is restrict the oxygen of attention and hope there is a spark of something in his soul which will help him to find his way. I don't think he gets the music but there is a possibility that it could be his saving grace so lets show him that we care about him as a fellow human being and trust to the four winds. I hope I don't ruffle any feathers if I say that if we allow his words to provoke us it means there is something within ourselves we need to look at.
I know some of us won't agree but the beauty of this forum is that it is free... and this is my two cents.:¬)
